Poet in New York is a tour-de force one-man play by Dito van Reigersberg of Pig Iron Theatre Company. In 1929, a broken-hearted Spanish poet, Federico Garcia Lorca arrives in New York City and finds a whirlwind of Harlem blues, looming skyscrapers, and stock market disasters. Through dance and the spoken word, van Reigersberg brings to life nine characters including Salvador Dali and Walt Whitman.
Performed in major cities around the world, Poet in New York, has been hailed by critics as "a poem in motion" (The Independent (London); "hypnotic" (The Washington Post) and "a stunning one-man show" (The List).
